After the piano enters the shop, it has to be disassembled and the screws labelled so that everything goes back where it should. This includes all hinges, pedal hardware, locks, and other hardware that is attached to the cabinet. The upright piano is placed on its back by means of a piano tilter which is a sort of “rocking chair” for the piano. This enables the legs and pedals to be removed. Repairs to the casters themselves can be done at this point.
